Hello,
Let us start of by saying Happy New Year and we wish you all the viral success you can dream of in 2010!
As 2010 is starting to gather pace and marketers are looking at how they can best spend their budgets we have decided to look at some of the predictions the experts have made about what this year has in store for marketing
ViralTracker Cases
This month ViralTracker has been tracking several videos again, including campaigns for LG.
The LG – ‘The Chipmunk Breaks Out’ campaign has only recently gone live, but has already exceeded expectations. The adaptation of 2007’s most popular viral videos, the Dramatic Chipmunk’ has been picked by several industry leading blogs and ViralTracker statistics have shown that after less than 20% of the campaign time the number of expected views has already been achieved.

The campaign was launched to promote the new LG Borderless TV. ViralTracker insights have helped optimise the LG campaign to make it even more successful!

Virals To Move From Art To Science
Duncan Southgath (Millward Brown) and Ken Mellon (Dynamic Logic) predict that marketers will increasingly become more scientific about their approach to viral marketing:
“Rather than just place videos online and hope an audience will come, advertisers will invest in viral seeding strategies. They'll promote their videos via online influencers, Facebook video-sharing applications and targeted, paid placements. Advertisers will also become smarter about developing and selecting ads with the most viral video potential before they employ the seeding”
Geoff Ramsey, CEO at eMarketer predicts that advertising spend on online video advertising will continue to rise:
“More marketers will increasingly embrace online video advertising, supported by the twin boom of video streams and video ad networks.”
eMarketer predicts that expenditure on online video advertising will have tripled by 2014.

The list is a combination of last year’s best commercial, amateur and professionally produced videos and includes favourites such as ‘David After Dentist’, Britain’s Got Talent surprise package Susan Boyle and ‘Balloon Boy’.
